Create a Plan That’s Right for You

If you decide adoption is the right choice, you can create a personalized adoption plan based on your wishes for yourself and your baby. Depending on your circumstances and applicable laws, you may be able to choose:
  • The adoptive family
  • An open, semi-open, or closed adoption
  • The type and level of contact you want with the adoptive family after placement

Prepare for Placement

You can have a voice in choosing the family you want to adopt your baby. Our team can help you explore available waiting families and learn more about their backgrounds, values, and hopes for adoption. The families we work with are screened and prepared to welcome a baby through adoption.

Post-Placement Support

You don't have to navigate the adoption process alone. Our adoption professionals can help you understand your rights, answer your questions, and guide you through each step. Depending on your situation and state laws, you may also qualify for certain types of support.

We’re here to answer your questions.

No. We will answer your questions and discuss your options. We won’t move forward with anything until you decide what you want to do and are ready.

How often you meet with a counselor is dependent on you and your needs. Your counselor/caseworker is there for you, to help you with whatever you need. They can be a great resource to you in answering your questions, providing emotional support and helping you through the process.

Semi-Open Adoption

Semi-open adoption involves limited contact between the birth and adoptive families. Communication is usually shared through an agency, and personal information remains private.

Closed Adoption

Closed adoption means there is no contact between the birth and adoptive families. Identifying information is kept confidential.

Last-minute and Hospital Adoption

Even if your baby is about to arrive or is already in your arms you may still have adoption options. ACF Adoptions is here with immediate, compassionate support to help you understand your choices, protect your rights, and make the decision that feels right for you.

It’s not too late to explore adoption if you’re:

  • Days away from delivery
  • In labor
  • At the hospital after birth
  • Already home with your newborn

No pressure. No judgment. Just support when you need it most.
