Prenatal care is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your unborn child throughout your pregnancy. ACF can assist you with securing health insurance and finding a doctor or clinic. Additionally we will cover any medical expenses not covered by insurance in connection with your adoption.
ACF can provide you with financial assistance to support your transportation needs during your pregnancy and up to six weeks post-birth, including transportation to doctors’ appointments. If you prefer, an ACF counselor may accompany you to doctor’s visits. Some women invite the adoptive family to go with them to share in this experience.
Florida law allows ACF to assist you with housing expenses such as rent and utilities during your pregnancy and up to six weeks post-birth. One of our counselors will sit down with you and discuss and assess your individual needs. We know the importance of safe and stable housing.
